Clock Solitaire

Clock Solitaire is a quick, chance-driven card game built around a circular “clock face” layout. The deck is dealt into thirteen piles—twelve around the circle and one in the center for Kings—each holding four facedown cards. Play begins by flipping the top card of the active pile, then moving it to the pile that matches its value: a 5 goes to five-o’clock, a Jack to eleven-o’clock, a Queen to twelve-o’clock, and so on. Wherever the card lands becomes the next pile you flip from, creating an unpredictable chain of reveals that jumps around the clock.

The only real threat is the Kings. Turning up all four before you’ve revealed the entire deck ends the game immediately. But if you manage to expose every card without flipping that final king, you win.

Because the game requires no strategy, no planning, and only one simple action repeated rhythmically—flip, place, repeat—it works beautifully as an idle hands pastime. It’s perfect for moments when you want to unwind, keep your mind gently occupied, or relax without committing to something complex. The light suspense of each card flip keeps you engaged just enough, while the easy flow of the game makes it calming and almost meditative.
